25 Years of IESE's Alumni Magazine
We Did It!

Professor Pedro Nueno looks back at the first issue of this magazine to see what the expectations were then – and speculates about what's in store for the future.

Executive Summary
What will the world be like in 25 years? What will IESE be like? I have been known on occasion to admit that life has taught me to curb my expectations. Twenty-five years ago I thought that if I lived to see 2005, I would be able to spend the odd weekend on the moon or fly to Boston in a couple of hours. I thought that I would be able to set the coordinates in my car and let it drive itself to wherever I wanted to go, and that we would have nuclear and solar power completely under control. I thought that Europe would have created a union at least as strong as the United States and that war would have been more or less eradicated.
