The Era of the New Economic Powers

What will the world be like in 2050? If we believe the projections and statistics, the scales will have tilted toward Asia. The weight of China and India will have changed the world balance because of their huge populations and - more than anything - the development of their respective economies.

Do you have children? They have probably studied or will study geography using an image of the world in which Europe or the United States are at the center of the planet. However, a few years from now -- not as many as you may think -- this center will have to be shifted towards Asia, a continent where the future of the world economy will be located.

Until relatively recently, the West viewed Asia with a superiority complex. While the United States took the baton and ran, and Europe agreed to a secondary role, large countries like China and India were relegated to third or fourth place, embroiled in their internal problems and poverty, while Japan became the exception that proved the rule by adopting Western systems.

But the situation has changed radically, and the United States, Europe, and Japan are beginning to view with increasing concern the unstoppable growth of these two new economic powers, which base their strength on economic development and the number of inhabitants, which no other country can approach, not even the theoretically united Europe.
