Soaring High with IESE SFPs
Program portfolio addresses hot business topics

Since its establishment in 1957, IESE has developed executive education programs designed for professionals at various stages of their careers, such as its flagship Advanced Management Program and Program for Management Development.

To complement these longer-term programs, IESE offers senior managers the chance to brush up on their knowledge on specific trends or sectors through its Short Focused Programs, as well as customized programs for corporate clients interested in developing entire teams.

Short Focused Programs

Throughout the year IESE’s Short Focused Programs (SFP) address a true smorgasbord of relevant business issues that matter most to today’s globally minded business leaders having to make strategic decisions for their companies.

The programs scheduled for the spring run the gamut, delving into subjects such as setting up operations in China to developing leadership competencies.
“Inside China” (April 21-25) will take participants to Beijing and Shanghai to experience firsthand the challenges and opportunities of doing business in China.

In May IESE will welcome the business management visionary and Stanford University professor, Jeffrey Pfeffer, for “Getting Things Done” (May 6-9). The program will help senior executives identify crucial elements for effective strategy implementation.

And back by popular demand, “Developing Leadership Competencies” (September 16-19) will equip senior managers with practical guidelines for evaluating their leadership skills and ability to manage talent in their own organizations.

Said Mark Wuijten, director of Short Focused Programs, “The success of SFPs rests on both constructing courses quickly – concentrating on the most relevant business topics in the eyes of the executive – and the commitment of the school’s faculty and external opinion leaders to share their skills.”

Custom Programs

IESE also offers custom programs for corporate clients interested in ongoing education and development of their top executives. IESE has partnered with several new clients recently, including database giant Oracle, Goodyear Dunlop Tires, Nestlé, and Zurich Insurance.

IESE’s Custom Programs team designs learning experiences that meet clients’ current business challenges, and in turn, transform the mindset and behavior of senior executives participating in them.

According to Michael Brandenburg, director of Custom Programs, “IESE brings new thinking to global executives by tailoring programs whose approach is out-of-the-box. IESE strives for excellence just as our corporate clients do, with the ultimate aim of helping them stay ahead and serve their customers even better.”
