The idea of creating a joint Committee came about in 1963 when IESE decided
to launch the MBA program. Then as now, Harvard and its MBA were top of
the list. &laqno; The idea was to create a committee so Harvard professors
could give IESE professors the benefit of their experience and knowledge»,
Carlos Cavallé, Dean of IESE, recalls.
One year later in 1964, IESE became the first European business school
to offer a 2-year, full-time MBA.
Over the years, the role of the HBS-IESE Committee has grown beyond its
original purpose to help IESE in all aspects relating to the management
of a business school. One of the Committee's most important functions is
to facilitate institutional and personal links between the two schools'
professors and exchange of professors.
&laqno;I can only say with great satisfaction and gratitude, says Carlos
Cavallé, that this joint Committee has performed superbly over the
last 34 years and has always achieved its goals.»
The Advisory Committee's current line-up is William E. Fruham, John Gabarro
and Earl Sasser for HBS, and Eduard Ballarín, Jordi Canals, Carlos
Cavallé and Pedro Nueno for IESE. |
