Professor Álvarez de Mon radically questions the advantages of technology and globalization, two of the more immediate consequences of the New Economy. The author concludes that all the many facets of globalization and all the opportunities offered by new technologies will not represent any form of advance for humankind unless they are governed by a humanist leadership.
