Ramón, Katrien, Lance and their 25 colleagues will shortly be making IESE history. They are the first students to take part in the Global EMBA, a new and pioneering Masters Program
It is three oclock in the afternoon, but Ramóns watch shows 9 a.m. It isnt that he has forgotten to change it however. Ramón arrived here two weeks ago to take part in the Global EMBAs first "residential module" and he fully admits that he cannot tear himself away from the projects that his people are developing in New Jersey (USA). "We are at a crucial point, so I spend the day studying and then I call them at night to see how things are going.
This is the price you have to pay for globalization." This 35-year-old from Madrid is in charge of the Regulatory Affairs Division at Johnson & Johnson in New Jersey. He is married with one son, and the design of the Global EMBA Program suited his requirements. "It was perfect", he says. "I was looking for a part-time MBA Program that would not mean that I would have to give up my weekends. The possibility of combining sessions into intensive blocks and working over the Internet fitted in perfectly with my situation. What is more, the fact that the program will take me to Europe and Asia represents real added value for me, since it allows me to get to know other markets."
