The New Roles of Business and Corporate Managers
Ways of Confronting Change Strategies for Transforming Multi-Business Corporations

In this fast changing environment, two factors become critical for success in business. The first is a manager’s capacity to encompass the changes place and understand both the positive and negative implications these might have for their organisations. The second, is the corporation’s ability to adapt quickly to the new surroundings

Around 410 BC, the Greek philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesos, stated that "There is nothing permanent except change". Looking at things over 2.500 years later, it is rather comforting to see that some things indeed do not change. If the press is anything to go by, change is thriving as much as ever and moreover happening at a far more vertiginous rate.

In this fast changing environment, two factors become critical for success in business. The first is a manager’s capacity to encompass these changes and to understand the impact these will have on their organisations. The second, is the corporation’s ability to adapt quickly to the new surroundings. Both these factors indicate that little will change in an organisation without the manager’s active participation. This is essentially what is behind "Strategies for Transforming Multi-Business Corporations", an International Executive Education seminar designed and executed together with the Harvard Business School for experienced managers of large corporations undergoing a process of change.
