In October Hewlett Packard received a "Social Balance Award" in the category "Social Initiative in Human Resource Management", awarded by Actualidad Económica, IESE and Adecco. The award was in recognition of HP’s efforts in developing the "Work-Life Harmony" program, aimed at achieving a balance between work and private life

The relationship between an employee’s professional life and his or her domestic situation can have a great bearing on many aspects affecting employee and employer alike. This article examines the evolution of attitudes towards the relationship between work and family.

La relación entre la vida profesional de un empleado y su situación doméstica influye mucho en aspectos que afectan tanto al empleado como al empresario. Este artículo analiza las políticas familiarmente responsables que aplican algunas empresas españolas.
