Custom programs at IESE: the secrets of success

In October 2001 Business Week’s Executive Education Survey ranked IESE’s In-Company program as # 1 in the World. This result is the culmination of the hard work undertaken by the Executive Education Department at IESE but can also be explained by its distinctly flexible approach to In-Company programs

In the highly competitive environment of Executive Education, making a difference can often be difficult. After all, at the top end of business schools, the level of facilities and faculty can be said to be relatively similar. The difference therefore is made by the more intangible elements: the school’s willingness to listen to its clients’ needs and tailor the program to satisfy them, the faculty’s flexibility to adapt both its material and teaching method to each program, and its level of service throughout the whole process.

When researching for this article, all the directors interviewed immediately stated IESE’s focus on service as the primary reason behind the result. The service focus, they went on, is not only expressed by listening to clients and delivering programs to exactly fit their company objectives. It is also prevalent in that every person working at IESE, from kitchen staff to program co-ordinators or directors ensures that any contact a client has with IESE is a both fruitful and a pleasant one..
