Virgilio Oñate, president of Spanish Seniors for Technical Cooperation (SECOT), received the prize given to his company for being the institution most active in credit transactions. Spain's Queen Sofia attended the event.

The Executive MBA class of 2002, led by Ricardo Lobera, met on May 19 on IESE's campus in Madrid and visited the newly-completed facililties.

Anna Maria Nikodemska-Wolowik, professor of the Institute of International Business of the University of Gdansk, writes: "I would like to share some news with all of you: last month a book which I have written with several other authors, "Logotype and More. Differentiation and Integrity in Business,” was published."

MBA 66
Manuel Capa organized an art exhibit in honor of Pope John Paul II in Madrid, marking the 25th anniversary of Karol Józef Wojtyla's election to the papacy.

On May 22, the 25th anniversary of the class was celebrated at IESE's campus in Barcelona. Dean Jordi Canals and Prof. Juan Carlos Vázquez-Dodero took part, leading two academic sessions.

Alberto Garro (MBA ‘88) met up with Jorge James (MBA '92), Daniel Oblitas (MBA '96) and Ricardo Aguirre (MBA '92) in the "Feria de Mayo," organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Peru.

Josep Collin has launched Self-Storage, a company that offers high-quality storage services in Barcelona.

Darío Martínez has been named vice-president of the "Asociación Hotelera Estancies de España."

PADE 59 and 60
On May 13 at the Barcelona campus, Casimiro Molins and Eduardo Tarragona led a gathering of two of the first graduating classes of IESE. The meeting started with a mass in memory of José Maria Farré-Escofet, a classmate who recently passed away.

Joan Fàbrega recently organized a visit to the Caixa-Forúm for all the members of his class. They enjoyed a guided visit of the exhibit of Salvador Dalí's works.

Carlos Delgado and Marta Pou sent an overview of their last meeting held in the Torre de Collserola outside of Barcelona. They write:
"Our classmate José Garriga, executive at Telefonica Spain, organized the visit, and Prof. Jordi Gual offered the presentation, 'The Economic Scenario in 2004.' Jordi Utgés of IESE's executive education department also joined us."

Ever since members of the PADE-A Class of 2003 in Madrid completed their program, they have held various gatherings with a host of interesting speakers. These have included Manuel Pimentel, Spain's former minister of Labor; Eugenio Galdón, president of ONO; Ana María Llopis, first female executive of a Spanish bank; Juan Luis Arzuaga, professor of paleantology and head of the excavations of Atapuerca; Blas Calzada, president of Spain's National Stock Market Commission and Eduardo Montes, president of Siemens Spain.

Joan Lucas Diéguez has founded Simple Web, a company that offers a system that allows customers to create webpages in of just a few minutes.

Ten years have already passed since the program ended. To mark the event, Rosario Padilla and José Luis Alvarez organized a gathering of all their classmates on May 19 at IESE's campus in Madrid.

Rafael Gasset has moved to Milan to become purchasing manager of commodities for Groupe Carrefour in Italy: "I would like to say farewell to the Alumni Chapter in Paris, and especially to Gloria Chatelain, Ignacio Barron and Gerard Schorr, who made a special effort to create and coordinate this group. I will miss the "diner du premier lundi."

Xavier Mor and Enric Campañà organized a meeting on April 29 at IESE's Barcelona campus. Participating was Alberto Miranda, partner consultant of Status EMA Partners Spain, who led a session titled, "How to Develop a Successful Professional Career."

Joaquín Valverde organized a meeting of his classmates on May 18 at IESE in Madrid, with Prof. Javier Quintanilla as a special guest.

Silvia Ramis has been named general manager of BBGR Lens Iberia, a company that designs, produces and sells contact lenses.

The class met on April 29 and was joined by Prof. Eduard Ballarín.

Xavier López-Sautés and Eva Gispert met up again with their classmates on May 18 on IESE's campus in Barcelona. The meeting included the participation of Prof. Luis Palencia.

On March 20, the class organized a family "calçatoda" (a Catalan tradition in the early springtime) in Sant Cugat near Barcelona.

Joan Carles Castellà and Francesc Luque held a meeting for their class on April 29 at IESE's campus in Barcelona. Also taking part in the event was Prof. Carlos García Pont.

One year after having completed their program, Mercedes Rius and Guadalupe Gros led a meeting with their classmates on May 13 at IESE in Barcelona.

Xavier Bover and Marisa Bombardó organized on March 4 a meeting of the class in Sant Just Desvern near Barcelona.

On May 16, IESE alumni organized "The Day of the Family PDD-5-03." The event took place at the Club Natación Montjuiïc and included the participation of Antonio Asensio, director of the program, and his wife.

Enrique Garcia has taken on the position of managing director of human resources for Grupo Zena.

Santiago Vázquez and Mercé Faixes led the First anual PDD Galicia at the headquarters of FEUGA in Santiago de Compostela. Taking part were José Ramón Pin, who led the session, "The Totem Phases of the Life of an Executive," and Gonzalo García Chamón, director of the program.
