IAB Meets in Madrid
Lending Experience and Knowledge
On April 16, members of IESE's International Advisory Board (IAB)
met at the Madrid campus. This year, the group took an in-depth
look at policies and strategies aimed at strengthening IESE's
position in the global business community.
IESE's International Advisory Board (IAB) met
on April 16. IESE's International Advisory Board (IAB) is made
up of CEOs and leaders of many of the world's most prominent companies
in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
The objective of the IAB is to advise IESE's leadership
on changes and trends in the international business world, and
help chart the school's future policies and strategic direction.
Members of the IAB take on the important responsibility of helping
the school maintain its commitment to provide quality management
education for managers, and addressing issues most relevant to
companies today.
This year, the meeting focused on developments in
management education throughout the world, particularly in emerging
markets. Other issues examined related to MBA hiring and professional
development, and new research projects involving the participation
of multinational companies.
Preparing Executives for a Global World
During the meeting, members of the IAB pointed to
IESE's full-time MBA program as one of the school's key international
activities. By continuing to accept only top-tier candidates,
the school will be able to maintain its high ranking among business
schools worldwide, IAB members confirmed.
Two recent graduates of IESE programs - one of the
school's Global Executive MBA program and another from the International
Advanced Management Program - were invited to the meeting to provide
an overview of their experiences and overall assessment of the
programs.
"They explained the highly positive impact
that the programs had had on their professional careers and their
ability to lead in international organizations," said Prof.
Juan Roure, who is a member of the IAB. "They encouraged
continuing the policy of bringing international members onto the
faculty, in order to further enrich the programs culturally."
"Members of the IAB congratulated IESE on the
scope and international reach of the programs," he continued.
"They also applauded the growing reputation of the school
around the world."
