On May 28, following the MBA Alumni Reunion, five classes of the Global Executive MBA met at the Fabra Observatory in Barcelona. Graduates of the program have been meeting for several years in the summer and winter, and have recently created an on-line meeting point and a web log.

Global Executive MBA graduates Dasha Moller and Paulo Feferbaum (GEMBA ’04) have launched a new consulting firm, Clarity, specialized in branding. They help companies acquire exhaustive information on young consumers, aged 15 to 35, in order to compete in the most effective manner.

Javier Piera, formerly managing director of EuroPraxis Consulting, has been named managing director of Indra.

Rik van der Kooi writes to tell us that Harald Hachmann, a member of his graduating class, has died recently of cancer. Harald was a dearly loved member of the class of ‘94, and very well-known among classmates and IESE faculty.

Gustavo Melgarejo has informed us that he has moved to Basel, Switzerland, where he will continue working for Novartis Pharma AG. His new responsibilities focus on Planning and Finance for the Oncology Business Unit in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Henry Berczely has joined Atlas Capital Investment Bankers in Madrid as associate.

Javier Guillén has been named president of EMA Partners International at the annual meeting held recently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Antonio Torrente has been promoted to the position of Director of Business Support
Services within the company Implant Innovations-Biomet.

Ricardo Ramos Sánchez de Movellán informs us that in 2004 he became managing director for South America for Grupo Áreas, with headquarters in Buenos Aires, after working in Argentina and Chile for the company.

Ester García Cosín was recently awarded a prize for the best presentation in a recent seminar on effective publicity. Also, Ester tells us that she has left the research department of Media Planning to take on the role of director of Client Service and Strategic Development.
